The Health Insurance Fund
The Health Insurance Fund is a foundation that provides private health insurance to low-income groups in sub-Saharan Africa. The insurance covers quality basic health care, including treatment for HIV/AIDS. Through its innovative approach the Fund strives to contribute to increased access to quality basic health care. In doing so the Fund contributes to the Millennium Development Goals.

Our cutting edge health care model provides a complementary system of quality upgrading, health insurance funds, medical credits schemes, private equity for health care investments and scientific analyses of healthcare data and project results. Our Approach is to provide demand driven and performance based health care. All parties involved in the health care value chain are responsible for accountable, transparent and efficient provision of medical and administrative services. An approach that establishes ownership amongst all parties. Our strategy is to build tailor made financial and administrative public private partnerships in health care provision.
